WVU Game (in Morgantown) Watch Parties – Postponed

Due to the increase in Covid-19 cases, the Board of Directors unanimously voted to postpone the Northern Virginia and Richmond watch parties. They will continue to monitor health information and announce a new date at a time when it is safe to do so.

Try Something New & Bring Your Family This Fall – Just not to Blacksburg

Most of us have noticed the challenge we’ve had over the years in finding a fall weekend that is convenient for everyone to attend, or even most of us to attend.
-Game weekends are too expensive.
-I have season tickets and can’t make it back to a non-game weekend too.
-I can’t get local hotel reservations.
-I have a tailgate spot, and can’t also make it to a larger event.
-Family responsibilities make it difficult to travel to Blacksburg on a weekend.
-I am not sure I would no anyone at a large event and hang out with the brothers who were there when I was.

So, this year, the Alumni Chapter Board is trying something different. As a pilot, we are sponsoring two Watch Parties:

  • John and Connie DeBell are hosting a Watch Party at their home in Catharpin, beginning at 11am. A committee to help them host the event is being formed, but plan now to join them for this family focused event at their home on Bull Run. Their 38 acre home is designed for children with room for corn hole, croquet, horseshoes, and wandering around the property. John and Connie’s home is located at 4905 Aldie Road, Catharpin, Va. 20143, about halfway between Manassas and South Riding.

    • In Richmond, we are confirming details to gather at Hardywood Westcreek, 820 Sanctuary Trail Drive. Hardywood has released Fightin’ Hokies Lager and specializes in family friendly events for everyone. They have hosted events for Mother’s Day, and Santa Claus, and their Cinema by the Creek and Bricks4Kids invites children to build with Lego and Duplo blocks.
